Osmium was found in 1803 by English chemists Smithson Tennan (1761-1815) and William Hyde Wollaston (1766-1828). Osmium and iridium were identified in the black residue remaining after dissolving platinum ore with aqua regia.
Osmium is a blue-grey dense chemical element with atomic number 76 and atomic mass 190,23. It is used
