+ καρδιά/cardia(=heart) which derived according Meletios(7th-8th cen AD) probably from verb κραδαίνω/kradeno (=rattle, rock).
+ίτις/-it is (modern Greek -ίτιδα)/-itida (=feminine suffix meaning “pertaining to”.) Feminine because it was used with feminine noun η νόσος/ e nosos /(=disease)
Coined:
Angio-oedema was described 1586 by Marcello Donati in a young count who was sensitive to egg . Hereditary angio-oedema was reported by Osler in 1885.
