Hippocrates (460 BC – ca. 370 BC) was the first who used uroscopy in examination of illness. Theophilus (7th-9th cen) treated uroscopy in a sophisticated objective manner and attempted to use uroscopy in an orderly, systemic method to accurately diagnose illness. Moreover Theophillous first described also the formation of urines in the kidney.
Definition
Nepfrology is the branch of internal medicine that deals with the study of the function and diseases of the kidney as dialysis, renal transplantaion and electrolyte disturbanse.
