Definition
Pleurodynia is the sudden and severe chest or abdominal pain attacks and breathing difficulties, that is a result of inflammation of the intercostal muscles and the muscular attachment of the diaphragm to the chest wall. The most common cause for disease is the Coxsackie B enterovirus and it is associated with fever, anorexia and headaches.
