Coined/History
The Greek Olympian god Hermes, herald of the gods,  was wearing wings on his sandals and  on his head, which were attached at the pterion.
Definition
The pterion is the point corresponding with the posterior end of the sphenoparietal suture where frontal, parietal, temporal and sphenoid bones meet.
