Literally meaning: “pertaining to green twin ”
Origin:
πράσσιος/prassios(=green)
+δίδυμος/didimos(=twin)
The element called praseodymium because it was isolated from material named “didymium” and forms greenish-brown salts.
Coined/History 

In 1882   Bohuslav Brauner announced that “didymium” incorrectly was said by Carl Mosander to be a new element (1841). In 1885 Baron Carl Auer Welsbach (1858-1929) recognized that “didymium” was consisted of two new elements: praseodimium and neodymium. Welsbach reacted “didymium” to form greenish-brown praseodymium and pink neodymium salts. 
Definition
The element Praseodymium is a chemical element with atomic number 59 and atomic mass  140.90765.  It is used mainly for coloring glass and ceramics.
