Origin: Anc Greek
αγγείο/aggio (=vessel, receptacle) > άγγος/aggos(=tube)
+ λύσις/lysis (=loosing)
> λύω/leo (break up, solve) à dissolution or a riot
Coined/History
The term was coined by Bernhard Glodny and Guido F Pauli after angiolysin
isolation from renal medulla and named it due to its extremely potent
vasodilatory properties.
