Coined/History

The term of biology appears to have been introduced in 1799 by English physician Thomas Beddoes (1760 – 1808) three years later German naturalist, Gottfried Reinhold Treviranus, in 1802 published the : Biologie; oder die Philosophie der lebenden Natur.

Biology is the scientific study of organisms concerning their function, structure and evolution.
