ὑπέρ/hyper(=prefix meaning something is excessive, above normal, over) + τροφή/trophe(=nourishment) >δρέπω/drepo(=gather)
Definition:
The enlargement or overgrowth of an organ or tissue due to an increase in cell size. It should be distinguished from hyperplasia , in which the cells increase in number.
