Definition
The Hadal zone is the deepest portion (zone) of ocean with a depth of around 6,000 metres (20,000 ft) to the bottom of the ocean. This region is defined by complete darkness, high pressure, and average temperatures of 2-3 degrees C (35 degrees F). Just above the hadal zone is the abyssal zone.
