1. Palindrome is a word, phrase, number, or other sequence of units that can be read the same way in either direction
2. (molecular biology) Palindrome is a DNA sequence that reads the same forwards and backwards. Some enzymes (restriction enzymes) have the ability to recognise palindromes and cut DNA-sequences at these specific sites.
