Term: hydrocele
Literally meaning: “a sac of water”
Origin: Anc Greek
ύδωρ/hydor(=water)
+κήλη/kele(=hernia, swelling)
Coined/History
  Ancient Indian Surgeon Sushruta (800 BCE)  described  hydrocele and also how it be punctured and trapped in his book “Sushruta Samhita”.  The term was coined in 5th cen by famous French surgeon and anatomist Ambroise Pare (c.1510-1590), centuries later in 1964 Peter H Lord described the technique of a bloodless operation for the radical cure of idiopathic hydrocele.
Definition
Hydrocele is the non-painful, typically non harmful serous-fluid accumulation  in any body cavity, specifically of  the scrotum (one or both sides).
