Origin: Anc Greek κανθός/canthos(=the angle formed by the junction of the eyelids) maybe from άκανθα/akantha(=edge, acicula, spike)
Definition:
either corner of the eye, where the eyelids meet
Comments:
Canthus is also known as palpebral commissure. Dystopia canthorum" is associated with Waardenburg syndrome.
