Definition:
Osteochondroma is a benign tumour of that occurs predominantly in metaphyseal regions of the long tubular bones.  Osteochondroma happens when exostosis (outgrowth bone) is capped with cartilage and can be solitary or multiple, sessile or pedunculated.

Acropachy is a medical condition characterized by new bone formation resulting to expansion of soft tissue around fingers and toes. This gives them a bulbous appearance identified as clubbing.

  Dwarfism was known since times of ancient Egypt as Egyptians had  two dwarf gods: Bes, the protector of sexuality/childbirth  and Ptah the protector of regeneration.
Hypochondroplasia was probably first described by Ravenna (1913) but not generally recognized until much later, the term being coined by Maroteaux and Lamy (1960).

Definition
Hypochondroplasia (MIM 146000) is is an autosomal dominant skeletal dysplasia characterized by short extremities, short stature and lumbar lordosis, usually exhibiting a phenotype similar to but milder than achondroplasia. Hypochodroplasia may be inherited as an autosomal dominant trait due to mutations in FGFR3 gene, although most cases occurs as spontaneous mutations in germline.

Coined/History
The term was coined in 1878, by French physician Joseph Marie Jules Parrot (1829-1883), who also described the Egyptian god Ptah as suffering from achondroplastic dwarfism. The word of “chondrodystrophy” which was introduced by German physician Edward Kaufmann (1860 - 1931), was used for a long time instead of term “achondroplasia”  in German-speaking countries” .
